The 2 series coupè has been born in 2013 as a successor of the very successfull first 1 series coupè. Since then the car has received several motorization updates including the M Sportsmobile M2, M2 Competition and M2 ClubSport (CS).
The name 2 series has also increased of size in terms of models on sale. First additions were the Active- and Grand-Tourer, which are arguably not the most appealing BMW models of time. The newest member of the 2 series is the front-wheel biased Gran Coupe, heavily based on the 2019 F40 1 series.

A small coupè is a pretty good base for a race car, but if you add some power and some other fun stuff you get the perfect performance toy. Thats what the M GmbH is famous for. With added power, a real M Engine from the F80 M3 and some upgraded mean looks with performance brakes, a performance undercarriage and some new software the M2 Competition has been born.
